ORGANIC AND SUSTAINABLE IN THE HEART OF CARNUNTUM
Our winery is located in the historic wine-growing region of Carnuntum, where the Romans planted the first vines more than 2000 years ago.
Probably the best red wines in Austria and wonderfully structured and expressive white wines are produced on 836 hectares in Carnuntum. Carnuntum stretches from the eastern edge of Vienna to the border with Slovakia, south of the Danube, which, with its surrounding alluvial forests, represents a cooling climate factor. The vineyards extend over three hilly landscapes: the Leithagebirge, the Arbesthaler Hügelland and the Hundsheimer Berge.
We filled our first bottles in 1988, today we cultivate 25 hectares of vineyards organically and sustainably. Our vineyards are located in and around the small wine-growing town of Göttlesbrunn, on the terraced terrain of the Arbesthal hill country.
They are exposed to the south and southeast. Our sites are dominated by loamy silt, sand and gravel. Loess deposits can also be found on some slopes. In combination with the nearby Ellender Forest, which provides cool air, the result is a juicy, spicy, close-meshed wine style. Red wines show a velvety fruitiness and unbelievable elegance.
Our wines are defined by a fine, dense and rich body without being overpowering and are always inspired by a touch of freshness.
The Ried Haidacker, which rises gently to the north-east in the direction of Schüttenberg, extends over an altitude of between around 180 and 240 metres. The vineyards face south-west and south. The subsoil is made up of predominantly sandy, partly silty-clayey, partly gravelly sediments from the former Pannon Lake, locally a loess cover is preserved. All soils are calcareous and deep.

The Ried Rosenberg is open to the south, sheltered from the wind and surrounded by cooling deciduous forests. The vineyards rise between about 210 meters above sea level to the gravel cap of the Ried Schüttenberg at about 280 meters, they look mainly to the south, but also a little to the southwest. In deep parts of the reed, the subsoil is made up of clay, silt and sand from the former Pannon Lake. The soils here are deep and calcareous.

The Riede Schüttenberg is located north of Göttlesbrunn. The vineyards are mainly oriented to the southwest but also to the south. At 284m, the Schüttenberg is the highest elevation in the Arbesthal hill country and is shaped by the gravel of the former Danube levels and their valley floors. The rock base under the gravel is made of clay, silt and sand. The soils on the rock base are deep and calcareous. The soils on the gravel are low in lime, barren and dry with rounded gravel and stones.

The Vineyards the Riede Bärnreiser look to the southwest and south. On the upper slope there is fine gravel made of quartz gravel, which in places also covers the fine-grained deposits of clay silt and sand from the former Pannon Lake. The soils are calcareous and mostly deep. The name is derived from the Middle High German "Reisern". It indicates that the natural vegetation on the barren, gravelly and hot location consisted only of undergrowth and brushwood.

RIED KRÄFTEN
The vineyards of the Ried Kraftn close directly to the town of Göttlesbrunn and extend as far as Arbesthal. The multi-part Ried forces lie in between sea levels 170 and 210 meters and faces predominantly southwest. The vines grow on black earth, loess, silt and sandy loam. The vineyards of the Ried Kraftn are already listed in the administrative map of 1864.

The Altenberg Ried lies north-west of Göttlesbrunn and is bordered by forest to the west and north. The vineyards are between 200 and 280 meters above sea level and face south and south-east. At the top of the Ried, the vines grow on clay-covered, quartz-rich, sandy gravel. In the central part, the silts and sands come to light. Towards the south they are covered by calcareous-silty loess.

The Ried Hagelsberg is located northeast of Göttlesbrunn and extends over a
Altitude between about 180 and 230 meters. The vineyards are predominantly inclined to the south-west. The subsoil is made up of predominantly silty and sandy deposits from the former Pannon Lake, in the central area of the reed the deposits are covered by loess. All soils are calcareous and deep, mostly they have high water storage capacity.
